NEEDLES: US#3 (3 mm), 5 dpn. US# 4 (3 ½ mm), long and short circ.needles US# 4 (3 ½ mm).

GAUGE: 23 sts. sto.st. in two-
col. pattern: app. 24 rows on US# 4 (3 ½ mm) = a square of 4" (10 cm).

A classic gansey - always trendy; the original ones were mostly in black and white natural shades of wool - here in an updated version in two blue shades with the pattern based upon the Lopnor Mitten Pattern.
The shape of the sleeve is very carefully worked out with two gussets in each other (not as difficult as it sounds!) in a different small simple pattern to stress the function of the gusset.
