cutting stitch border to form neckline, every other row 3 times = 40 shoulder sts. Cont. with graph 3.
When graph is finished, knit one row in MC black. Begin
shoulder finishing:
cast off the 29 neckline cutting sts.,
knit 40 front shoulder sts.,
cast off 11 armhole cutting sts.,
knit 40 back shoulder sts.,
cast off 40 back neck sts.,
knit 40 back shoulder sts.,
cast off 11 armhole cutting sts.,
knit 40 front shoulder sts.

TO ASSEMBLE SHOULDER: Turn the body inside out. With a 3rd needle and MC, close the shoulders by knitting the back and front together from the inside, simultaneously casting off. Repeat same process for right shoulder.

SLEEVES: With dpn. US# 3 (3 mm) in MC black, cast on 44 sts. and do picot edge as above. Incr. 8 sts. evenly over the row, spread the sts. evenly over 4 dpn., join the needles to close the circle and start knitting in the round.
Do
Black&White Square Pattern as above, incr. 2 sts. = 54 sts., knit flower border, following graph 1. Knit one row in MC black, incr 34 sts. evenly over the row = 88 sts. Change to short circ.needle US# 4 (3 ½ mm) and cont. in Zigzag Pattern (graph 2) in BC red.
Knit 2 rows in MC black, cont. following graph 3 until end of work.
At app. 14 ¼" (36 cm) of length from folding row, begin
gusset:
Incr. one st. on each side of the 3 center sts. of the under-sleeve every other row until the gusset contains 29 sts. Do Fleur-de-Lis pattern, following graph 3 for gusset.
When gusset is finished, the length of sleeve app. 17 ¾" (45 cm).

STRETCHING: Place the different parts between damp towels on a pinboard. Let them dry.
