Take time to check gauge before you have gone too far!

MEASUREMENTS:
bust app. 45 ¼" (115 cm),
total length app. 27 ½" (70 cm).

FRONT AND BACK are knitted in round with cutting sts. for armhole, front opening and front neck opening, see text! Thus no sewing machine seams are needed before cutting.
With the long circ.needle US# 4 (3 ½ mm) and col. 141, cast on 276 sts. Purl one row backwards. Knit Square pattern back and forth in col. 141 and col 55 following Graph 1.
Ater six squares, cast on 9 cutting sts. between the first and last sts. to close circle, begin knitting in round, following Graph 2 for Diagonal Pattern.
The cutting sts. are to be knitted: * k1 MC (in the actual pattern), k1 PC*, k1 MC for all rows.
Knit one row in col. 92. Cont. in col. 92, incr. 12 sts. evenly over the next row = 288 sts. + 9 cutting sts. = 297 sts.
Knit pattern following the big graph with col. FC 24 as MC between the different Norwegian Star Patterns.
At 20" (51 cm) of length from beginning of circ. knitting, divide the work for fronts and back as follows:
knit 69 sts. in pattern = left front
armhole opening:
place 6 sts. on a thread or safety pin, cast on 11 cutting sts., alternating the actual PC and MC in the armhole opening,
cont. in pattern for 138 back sts.,
